In these games one of your guests is murdered and another is the murderer. Your guests work in small teams to solve the crime. If you want a brilliant night to remember order a Premium Edition game. These games are perfect for kids 11+, teens and adults. They come in 2 to 15, 15 to 60 and 60 to 120 people packs.

Murder In A Box - Standard Edition: Standard Edition games are very simple to play. They do not require a host (just an organiser) and suit a casual party or a group of friends having dinner. These games are perfect for kids 11+, teens and adults. Each game is suitable for 2 to 15 people however if you are having more people just order a game per 15 people.

Murder In A Box - Custom Edition: Custom Edition games are easy to play. The beauty of these games is that you pick the characters names, the setting etc. and these peronal details are what appear on the clues. The format of the game is the same as the Standard Edition.

Murder In A Box - Kids Edition: Kids Edition games are lots of fun and simple to play. They require a host (parent or friend) and suit kids aged 7 to 10. Each game is suitable for 2 to 15 kids however if you are having more guests just order a game per 15 kids.

Each guest will be allocated a character at the party. Premium Edition games use funny character names. Murder In A Box games use clues instead of scripts. Our research shows that guests prefer this much more.

You probably played "How to host a murder". This game is for exactly 8 people where Murder In A Box games are much more flexible.

Can we have food? [Top]
Yes. Finger food and platters work really well during a murder mystery. If you want a full meal we strongly recommend you play the game before or after dinner. To play your murder mystery during dinner select a Murder In A Box - Standard Edition game.

Where should I hold the event? [Top]
Standard Edition games can be played anywhere and in any venue.

Because Premium Edition games involve playing games and your guests doing lots of fun and silly things they need a quiet venue with lots of space.
You can hold a murder mystery at home or in a function venue. Try any venue which:
- Is completely private i.e.: not a restaurant with other patrons.
- Is very quiet i.e. no bands or DJs next door.
- Has plenty of room to move around.
- You need one central area big enough for all guests at one time.

What should I tell my guests? [Top]
Each guest receives an invitation explaining that they will be attending a murder mystery and it also provides costume suggestions. You fill in the details and send the invitations out. No acting is required just mingling and sleuthing.

Can some guests just watch? [Top]
Yes! Your guests can choose their level of participation.

Can we run the Murder Mystery as a fundraiser? [Top]
Absolutely! Many groups use one of our packs and run the party themselves. They charge $15 to $20 a head for nibbles and the mystery.

What is the best theme for an all girl’s party or Hen’s Night? [Top]
You have two choices:

Our “Hollywood Scandal” theme has characters that could either be boys or girls with names like “The Star” and “The Producer”.
Our "Wild West" theme involves a wedding and a baby swap and is great for a Hen’s Night (some guests will be boys but this increases the fun!)

Do we dress up? [Top]
Costumes are not required, but they are fun. Guests can dress in costume or in a high class outfit.

Many people like to “set the scene” with decorations.

How do your Custom Edition games differ from the pack you send out? [Top]
Our games are professionally designed and printed and include physical props. Custom Edition games are the same except the quality is determined by your printer. Also, you choose the characters and story theme.

All games are sent express post but delivery time varies from region to region.
Western Australia - 2 to 4 days (orders can be collected from our office).
Australian Eastern States - 4 to 8 days.
Outside Australia - 7 days is the norm but areas other than major capital cities will take up to 20 days.
